The virtual reality outfit Hammerhead VR, which is responsible for the Thunderhead above-the-clouds virtual reality experience, and the ABE VR, today, confirmed the 15 of February as the release date for Syren, its next project. Syren is a horror video game, with monsters and the mad scientists, who created the monsters. You are expected to solve puzzles and try to survive, while dealing with the monsters.
Syren will initially be available for the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift when it launches on the 15 of February. A version for the Playstation VR is expected in march, so users of Sony’s Head Mounted Display will have to wait for a month longer.
According to Simon Windsor, Hammerhead VR’s joint managing director, Syren is the first in a series of sci-fi fantasy projects that the company is embarking on. It follows the success of the company’s previous project, ABE VR.
In the game’s trailer, which was earlier released in November, 2016, the story centers around a submerged research facility, with an obsessed scientist who tries to recreate ‘Syrens’, an advanced species that has physical similarities with mermaids.
